Sodium Chloride Infusion 0.9% Therapeutic indications
Sodium Chloride Infusion 0.9% is indicated for use in adults and pediatric patients as sources of electrolytes and water for hydration.
- It is used as a diluent for medicinal products for parenteral administration.
- It can be used to initiate and terminate blood transfusions without hemolyzing red blood cells.
- It is indicated for the treatment of isotonic extracellular dehydration caused by hypoosmolality, isotonia and hypertonicity
- It is also indicated for low-chloride metabolic alkali poisoning
- External use of Sodium Chloride 0.9% can be used to wash the eyes and wounds.

Serious allergic reaction of this drug is rare. Ask help from nurse or doctor immediately if any unexpected side effects occur during or after using it such as severe dizziness or trouble breathing.
Allergic reactions,chills,confusion, dizziness, drowsiness,fever, headache, itching, nausea, rashes, tremor and vomiting are rare but reported after using Sodium Chloride Infusion.
Warning
DO NOT use Sodium Chloride Infusion 0.9% if you have allergic reaction to it. The one with high sodium levels in blood should avoid using it also.
